backed by 27 years of hands-on boat building experienceLed by Brenten Winchester, Winchester Marine specialises in semi-custom handcrafted dory boats.
With over 27 years of hands-on boat building experience, Brenten’s career began at just 14, working Saturdays in the very same workshop the business operates from today. By 15, he had started his apprenticeship, completing his formal trade training in Brisbane while working full time on the tools.
When his mentor retired, Brenten established Winchester Marine to continue building boats with the same practical standards, attention to detail, and hands-on approach that defined his early years.
Experience & ConstructionWith nearly three decades of experience working on vessels ranging from 10 feet through to 33 feet, Brenten has developed a strong understanding of hull performance, balance and structural integrity suited to Australian conditions. Each boat begins with a moulded hull for consistency and strength, followed by a hand-built fit-out completed onsite in Noosaville. Construction methods are grounded in proven techniques while continually incorporating improved materials and refinements as they become available. Most builds are completed to order within a semi-custom framework, allowing layout and finish selections while maintaining structural standards.

Philosophy & Approach
The goal is simple… to build dory boats that perform exceptionally well, last for the long term, and look right at home on the water.
Winchester Marine is not a volume production builder. The focus remains firmly on quality over quantity, with hands-on involvement throughout every stage of construction. There are no shortcuts in structure, no rushing for output, and no compromise on durability.
